As soon as our
emergency team has minimized and assessed damage, Mellon Certified Restoration begins the
work of cleaning and rebuilding. Our restoration technicians are highly skilled,
experienced professionals.

Using a Turbozone ozone cleaner (an oxidizer) here at our
plant, they can remove the persistent smell of smoke from books, furniture, clothing and
other belongings.
Removing
the acrid, diffuse odor of smoke that lingers in a structure is more of a challenge. One
key weapon against smoke odor is an air scrubber called a negative air machine. Equipped
with an H.E.P.A. filter, this device picks up minute particles of dust, while its
activated charcoal satellite absorbs the smell of smoke.
After fires or other water damage
(for instance, when a washing machine hose bursts), a top priority is to dry the building
before wet conditions cause more destruction. Our Drizair 200, a large commercial
dehumidifier, pulls 180 pints of water from the air every 24 hours -- versus the 16
pint-per day capability of a household model. It is used with an air mover to speed the
drying process.
Our
state-of-the-art equipment also includes a large ultrasonic cleaner. Like an oversized
jewelry cleaner, this machine does the delicate job of removing soot from knick-knacks and
other hard-to-clean objects as well as from television sets, stereo components, and other
electronic equipment.
